Dental Surgeons
 
Our team includes six UK trained and qualified Dental Surgeons. We have over 50 years of combined experience between us. We undergo continual postgraduate training and attend conferences regularly to ensure that we keep abreast with modern dental techniques.
 
Dr Bindi Shah BDS (Principal) qualified from University of Wales College of Medicine (Cardiff) in 2001. She then worked in general practice in London and Hertfordshire. She became the Principal Dental Surgeon of Ashwell Dental Surgery in October 2004 and is completed her MFGDP qualification in November 2007.

Bindi is very passionate about dentistry and has the constant desire and drive to learn new and exciting techniques. She enjoys working with nervous patients and children helping them to reduce their anxiety.

As Ashwell Dental Surgery’s reputation for quality care grew, in 2006 she expanded the practice from two surgeries to four in order to meet demand.

Bindi is always happy to discuss in confidence with patients and prospective patients any issues they may have clinical or non clinical.

 
Dr Sheetal Bhalla BDS graduated from Birmingham University in 2003 with Honours and Distinction. Since qualification, she has worked in general practice in Oxford and Hertfordshire and joined our team in October 2007. She mentors newly qualified dentists in Oxford and is heavily involved with the British Dental Association.
 
Currently she is studying part-time for Masters in Restorative dentistry at the Eastman dental institute in London. Her special interests include facial aesthetics (wrinkle reduction), cosmetic dentistry, periodontology and the treatment of nervous patients.
Priyesh Shah BDS MFDS qualified from Manchester in 1999, and has since worked in both hospital and general dental pratice. He prides himself on the quality of his work and providing the best possible care for his patients. He obtained his MFDS qualifications at the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2002. He is currently undertaking a Masters in Clinical Dentistry, in Prosthodontics (covering dentures, bridges and implants) at the Eastman Dental Institute.

Dr Bikram Bal BDS (Lon), LDS, FDS RCS (Eng)
Specialist in Surgical Dentistry
Practice limited to Oral Surgery and Implantology

Bikram qualified from King’s College Dental School in 1992 obtaining BDS and subsequently LDS, RCS qualifications. He spent one year in general dental practice before entering into Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training in hospital. He passed the FDS RCS exam in July 1997. In March 2000, Bikram was placed on the Specialist list.

Bikram has also been working in private practice since 1996 and is a visiting specialist based in St.Albans and London. Currently, he also works in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Whipps Cross Hospital and runs an Oral Surgery Service in West London.

Implantology has been a great interest over the last ten years, and he has been involved in their placement in both hospital services and in general practice. He exclusively uses the Straumann implant system and places them both in the UK and Ireland.

He is a member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and The Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry. Additionally, he is a member of the British Association of Oral Surgeons.

 

Dental Hygienists

Mrs Veronica Ogden qualified as a dental therapist in 1978 and a hygienist in 1980 has been with Ashwell Dental Surgery form 1999.
